About India
India's Volleyball and Educational Background
India Clark is an MB/OPP for Sunshine Volleyball Club and an Outside Hitter for the Girls Academic Leadership Academy (GALA), the first and relatively new all girls' public STEM school. The first official year the volleyball team competed was in 2021, and as an outside hitter, India led her team to win the 2021 CIF L.A. City Section Division 4 Championship. She received Division 4 Player of the Year honors and was selected as team MVP. This past season, GALA won the 2022 Division 3 Championship, and India received the same honors.
India has been playing volleyball competitively for 9 years and is starting her 8th club season this year. After spending her first five years as a MB, India has honed her skills as an Opposite and continues to display diversity in all offensive positions. At the conclusion of the 2021-22 Club season, India led her team in kills and kill percentage (.315). At USAV Nationals, India led her team in Blocks, Kills, and Kill Percentage (.350).

To date, India has completed 7 AP classes, and she is enrolled in 4 AP courses for senior year. In addition to her rigorous course load and commitment to volleyball, India also holds a part-time job working for Los Angeles Parks and Recreation.

In 2022, India earned the Affiliate Honorable Mention Award from NCWIT Aspirations in Computing Community, an award that's given to high school students who are interested in technological innovation. She was also recognized by the National Society of High School Scholars and as a National Honors Society member. An NHS member must be a role model of an outstanding GALA student, exemplifying scholarship, service, leadership and character. India's HS team earned the CIF Los Angeles City Section Academic Team Excellence Award 2022. This award is given to the team with the highest grade point average.

2015Â - 2018
WEST Volleyball Club
India was a part of 11’s Royals where she first learned how to play. She then wanted to take that next step in competition and joined the 12’s Black (1’s) team. India played up again a year later on the 13 ’s Black team. 13's Black won their division at that year's Volleyball Festival in Phoenix, AZ.
2018Â - 2020
Sunshine Westside 13's and 14's
India played on the 13 Westside team with Zane McFarland as the head coach and Kyle Weindel as the assistant. The following year she played on the 14 Westside team with Cari Klein as the head coach and Tuan Le, Jeff Porter and Sean Clark (India's Father) as assistants. Sadly, the year was cut short due to Covid-19. The coaching staff continued with online workouts during the lockdown.
2020-2022
Sunshine Westside 15's and 16's
India played on the 15 Westside team with Spencer Fournell as the head coach and Ali Fathalinejad as the assistant. In the 2021-2022 season, India played on Sunshine's 16 Westside team with Kyle Weindel as the head coach and UCLA WVB Volunteer Asst Coach Sammy Ramos as the team's assistant coach. Sunshine 16 Westside finished 26th at GJNC, and India hit a team-high .350 hitting percentage and was the leader in kills and blocks. Last season, India also attended the 2022 (HS) Under Armour All-America Volleyball Invitational Camp in Indianapolis after Junior Nationals, and she has been named to the AVCA Phenom Watch list for the upcoming club season. This 2022-23 season, India will play on the Sunshine Westside 17's team.
2020-2023
Girls Academic Leadership Academy (GALA)
As an outside hitter, India led her team to win the CIF L.A. City Section Division 4 Championship in 2021 as well as the Division 3 Championship in 2022. India received Division 4 (2021) and Division 3 (2022) Player of the Year honors as well as team MVP and hopes to lead the team to a 3peat in 2023.

Open Magnet Charter School
India attended Open Charter from Kindergarten through 5th grade. The school is ranked in the top 10% of schools in California in test scores. It is one of the most diverse schools in LAUSD and it uses a project-based curriculum.

As the first and only all-girls public STEM school in California, GALA offers the education one would receive from a private institution. GALA has a 100% graduation rate and high test scores. India enrolled at GALA in the 6th grade and is currently a High School Junior. India has completed AP Biology, AP World History, and AP Computer Science. She is currently taking AP Physics, AP Computer Science (JAVA), AP Language, and AP US History.
